Museeks

When it comes to playing music on a computer, Museeks offers a simple and straightforward solution. It doesn't come with too many functions, but you can expect a high quality playback and an efficient management system. Whenever you want to play some music, you will be able to do it in a comfortable manner.

Museeks is offered as a freeware application, for Windows, Mac and Linux. Its components are delivered in a ZIP archive, so you can have it up and running in no time. There are no special requirements you have to meet and you don't need to sacrifice too many resources for this application.

In terms of appearance, Museeks resembles a stripped-down iTunes. The largest part of the user interface consists of a list, in which you can find your songs, along with a few details, like artist, album, genre and duration. The list is blank by default, but you an populate it by selecting one or more music folders in the general settings menu.

The playback and volume controls, as well as information about the currently playing song are displayed on the top edge of the interface. You can also find options for playing normally or shuffled, on a loop or a single time, as well as an option for revealing a play queue.

Museeks lets you create more than one playlist, in a separate section of the interface. Furthermore, adding music to specific playlists is quite easy. All you have to do is right click a song and choose one of your playlists in a sub-menu.
